[edit]Is Millmount a "real" Martello tower, given its age? It was built later than the other towers in the Dublin area. Is Drogheda even part of the Greater Dublin Area? Suckindiesel (talk) 21:11, 11 September 2020 (UTC)
In all of the books on the subject it is generally included although I have also seen it omitted. The purpose of the towers was to defend the Greater Dublin area from attack. Meath is included in that definition of Greater Dublin Area but Louth is not. However the tower is actually on the Meath side of the Boyne and this area transferred from County Meath to County Louth at some point over the years. I can see the argument for and against to be honest but decided to leave it in. Alternatively it could be removed and included as a note at the bottom or even as a part of See Also.
