Becoming an officiant on the internet
[edit]In American shows I have seen anyone can become an officiant just by going on the internet and getting a licence there which takes no time at all. Is there any truth to this? 49.3.72.79 (talk) 18:17, 18 May 2023 (UTC)
- I have experience of this. It depends on the state. Officiating at a wedding definitely requires a skill set - a conviction you gain when one views a on day amateur do the job. As I say, it all depends on the state your are in. In New Jersey for example you have to be an authorised clergy person or civil celebrant. They require a 26 week course to be a celebrant.Gladiator-Citizen (talk) 22:53, 19 May 2023 (UTC)
