Play-by-play

[edit]

I removed the play-by-play information, as I thought it was excessive and a violation of WP:STATS. At Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Roy Halladay's perfect game, another editor complained about the play-by-play, saying this was what we didn't need in perfect game articles. Another editor reverted me, saying that this would be a conveniance to White Sox fans. What does everyone think? ~EDDY (talk/contribs/editor review)~ 22:55, 12 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've got a great idea! I collapsed the table to hide some statistics. If anybody want to see play-by-play, simply click on 'show' next to 'score'. But I guaranteed that most readers are not really interesting to see detailed play-by-play throughout the game. BlueEarth (talk | contribs) 01:14, 13 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Collapsed tables would be a hindrance to getting this article to GA or FA. Right now, it's a violation of WP:NOT#STATS and should be removed in favor of prose describing the game inning-by-inning. — KV5Talk11:49, 13 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Aftermath

[edit]

Below: Shouldn't "left field" be "right field" instead?

The left field wall where Wise made his ninth-inning home run-robbing catch is marked with the text, "The Catch".

Jermaine Dye

[edit]

There's another play that I think should be noted: I remember Jermaine Dye making a fairly remarkable play in the 7th or 8th. It was nearly an error. I think he originally misjudged the ball, but recovered. Then his glasses nearly fell off his face while trying to get the ball. He caught both his glasses and the ball. He was replaced soon after. This is probably not completely correct since I don't remember exactly what happened. It's the kinda thing that contributes to a perfect game, but you won't see in the box score. Anyone out there watch the game lately? Liberty5651 (talk) 21:59, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Buehrle’s first no hitter

[edit]

Wasn’t the walk to Sosa in the first inning (not fifth)? 2601:240:E380:1280:EDB8:51E:B34B:E434 (talk) 02:33, 7 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
