majorem
[edit]NOT connected to the latin word Maior? The Spanish word (mejorana) for it sure seems like it is -- unsigned by 68.227.68.171 (talk) at 22:31, 9 July 2006
See also Ad maiorem Dei gloriam. You can really test how good an internet search engine is, by searching for "ad marjoram dei gloriam". (Which would probably translate to "To the kitchen herbs - for god's glory!", or something.) Most will ignore the marjoram altogether, and give you all their hits for "ad majorem dei gloriam" instead. Then again, if you insist on something like +"marjoram" you can find all the gospel choir pages which have been typed with automatic spellchecking set on English instead of Latin... --BjKa (talk) 18:10, 12 May 2015 (UTC)
German term Gänsekraut
[edit]Gänsekraut is mugwort. Nothing to do with marjoram. So I removed that nonsense.188.118.149.107 (talk) 20:30, 19 March 2014 (UTC)
Origanol?
[edit]Sorry if I seem ignorant of botanical compounds, but "origanol"? It sounds like a made-up name! Any chance of a source or some exposition?—Jordan Gray (talk) 14:40, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
You should have had the courage of your convictions! A Google search reveals only one entry - for an imaginative essential oil supplier. I've deleted it for you. Cjsunbird (talk) 20:23, 5 April 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you—and you're right, I should have been a little more forward. :)—109.231.234.46 (talk) 10:40, 29 October 2012 (UTC)
