4 or 8?
[edit]Some parts say there were four confirmed tornadoes, others 8. Which was it?-RunningOnBrains 19:15, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the feedback. I had forgotten to update the infobox with the info I found from the NCDC. Southern Illinois SKYWARN (talk) 19:17, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
I observed the tornado as it approached our house. I stood on the front porch and watched it change direction to go slightly south which missed our house by 3blks. then as it passed it traveled back north to its original easterly path. I believe God saved us that day for something more important in life and that is to carry his message. The F4 tornado was massive and I saw miles high of roofs, parts of houses, etc. and the sound was a loud crunching and mashing of material. Two Frame Radar
[edit]I don't think this "loop" adds to the article at all; the article itself doesn't explain the structure of the storm as it relates to the radar image, and with only two frames anyway, it's more annoying to me than informative. I like the visible satellite imagery though; maybe this could be bigger and the radar graphic removed. As to other improvements, I'll have to think a little bit... since this is an older, one-time event, it's hard to think of suggestions of how it could be expanded even more than it already is. Good job with what limited resources you've had thus far though. ~ Triberocker (talk) 04:51, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
- I am not sure if I want to remove the radar, as it was the only radar picture I could find. Thanks for the compliments and suggestions though. Southern Illinois SKYWARN (talk) 14:03, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
Montgomery County "tornado" removed
[edit]I have removed the F3 "tornado" from the chart. Based on the map provided on the NCDC entry [1], the description and map showing the Conant tornado starting north of Percy [2], [3], and Grazulis listing the Conant tornado as starting in Randolph County, it appears that the Montgomery County "tornado" is actually the Randolph County segment of the Conant tornado's track, erroneously listed as being in Montgomery County. Additionally, the monthly Storm Data report does not mention any tornado in Montogmoery County on this day. TornadoLGS (talk) 03:40, 21 April 2022 (UTC)
Colorado and Nebraska tornadoes
[edit]While going over NCDC records I found listings of a few tornadoes that hit Colorado and Nebraska around the same time as the ones farther east. I wasn't sure if they should be included here, or if there was a reason for excluding them previously. TornadoLGS (talk) 04:32, 21 April 2022 (UTC)
