I have not done much editing before on Wikipedia but I am either doing something very strange without realizing it or this is a bug with this particular page.
when I go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marine_Biology_Simulation_Case_Study
I saw the text: ...as well as requiring students to understand how objects such "the environment", "the fish",...
I went to edit the page to add the as so it read objects such as and not just objects such "the environment"
I made the edit (like I have done before without problems), saved the changes, and refreshed the page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marine_Biology_Simulation_Case_Study and the missing 'as' was still missing.
I then tried this again adding 'as' twice so it read such as as "... and instead of saving I just previewed the changes and although the preview still said such "... without either 'as' the xml at the bottom of _the same page_ had both.
I then did the same preview but instead added the words "why are my changes not showing up?" after the 'as' so that it said such as why are my changes not showing up "... at which point the XML matched what the preview was showing including my test _and_ the previously missing 'as'.
after many permutations and testing outside of the preview ( as you can see in the change log I even at one point added the text "this is a test wich could not be done in the sand box and I will remove it promptly" in the actual saved article which I probably shouldn't have) and all the edits worked correctly except for those that would have added the missing 'as'.
Then I went to the discussion page for this article and it gave me the following warning at http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:Marine_Biology_Simulation_Case_Study&action=edit :
We don't have an article called "Marine Biology Simulation Case Study"
* Search Wikipedia for Marine Biology Simulation Case Study - it might be called something else.
...but you can write it!
* Type in the box below and click save page to start this article. Your article will be published immediately. Create an account to have yourself listed as the author. ...
This warning is obviously false as the article has not been removed and I came to the discussion page through the link at the top of the article.
Again, It may be I am doing something wrong but I doubt it and you can view the log of edits for yourself if you think I made some sort of syntax error in the XML but whatever the problem it sure is strange. 68.164.92.182 00:37, 3 March 2006 (UTC)
