Founder of the Mariinsky Academy?
[edit]@Aciram: Are you sure? I thought the Vaganova Academy founded in 1738 was the original Mariinsky Academy. We probably need further sources on this. From the Russian wiki, it looks as if in fact she founded the Moscow Mariinsky School for Girls. In English, the Mariinsky Academy is associated with ballet.--Ipigott (talk) 10:46, 20 July 2016 (UTC)
- It was a question of the name of the girl school: as far as I could tell, it seems it was called "Academy" (a common name for girl schools, though perhaps not in England) which caused the mixup with the famous ballet. --Aciram (talk) 14:26, 20 July 2016 (UTC)
