A better reference
[edit]I think that more and better information about the Maróczy bind in the references are needed. An article about it in the Chess Ninja magazine is not enough. Introgressive 17:10, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
A great example game someone could include: Game 16 of Kasparov-Karpov's 1985 World Championship match featured a pawn sacrifice by Kasparov to break the Maroczy Bind. Karpov's position rapidly deteriorated over the next dozen moves and Kasparov won the game, having had Karpov in the position of having virtually no sensible moves available to him.

history or "etymology"
[edit]Okay we state Maróczy put some emphasis on what would lead to the position in 1906, but then there's a huge gap into the 1940s.
Was these 1906 notes really sufficient all by themselves to establish the name for the position? Even though Maróczy apparently never used it himself?
Assuming the answer is "no not really" we must then add references in the subsequent years when the term "Maróczy bind" was starting to see usage.

Creak Sicilian?
[edit]The page has two references to the Creak Sicilian. Both Googling and ChatGPT suggest this isn't a thing. Perhaps the "not to be confused..." and chess board should be removed. Nkylesmith72 (talk) 12:39, 16 July 2024 (UTC)
