System

[edit]

I removed the section on "system" because the passenger gondolas are not permanently attached to the cable, as it suggests, and the reason for the angle stations is because the normal suspension towers can't withstand lateral forces exerted by the cable tension at such points. To correct those points would be redundant, as the rest of the article is rather informative. Misterbisson (talk) 21:51, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cable car or gondola?

[edit]

English signs use the term "Maokong Gondola" rather than cable car. Should the title of this page be changed? Davidreid 15:02, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The official name is Maokong Gondola,I'll rename this page.--Alex S.H. Lin 11:29, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Taipei Times uses the word "Cable car"

Removed opinion from intro

[edit]

I have removed the following:

...the Maokong Gondola is the crowning achievement of then Taipei Mayor Ma Ying-jeou during his 8 years in office.

That is pure opinion. Even if was popular opinion or the opinion of Ma this would a) need citation and b) perhaps not warrant mention in the intro. Thanks. 116.59.125.90 (talk) 16:26, 30 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
