1a Prose

• Needs a good copyedit here. Examples of poor prose in the first section "Schalke 04":
  • "Neuer signed professional terms in 2005 after progressing through every age group at his hometown club." - Sentence is backwards really (should be childhood team, then pro). Signed professional terms with which club? Which club was his hometown club? Was his hometown club the same one he signed with professionally?
  • "he came on to substitute the injured Frank Rost" – should be substitute for.
  • "crunch clash"
  • "he announced that he will not be extending his contract with Schalke" - why is this still in present tense when it occurred more than 2 years ago?
  • "He earned criticism by Schalke-fans". Should be "from" not by, no hyphen between Schalke and fans, and is "earned" really the most appropriate word here?
• I've only listed the first sectionexamples here, but the entire article really should be copyedited as the poor prose continues the whole way through.
• Note, tv shows and movies should be italicised.

1B MOS compliance

• Fails WP:LEDE. Needs to be expanded.

2a References

• Last two pargraphs of Bayern Munich section unreferenced.
• Direct quotes need sources (ie "sensational" in Euro 2012 section).
• Euro 2012 and Honors sections needs more references.
• Dead links need to be sorted.

2b Reliable sources

• What makea inside World Soccer a reliable source?
• Ditto: ghanaweb, transfermarkt.de, DFB.de, kicker.de, welt.de, reviersport.de, Online.de.
• Is manuel-neuer.com his official website or a fansite? If the latter, it is not a reliable source and should be removed.

3a Broad

• The sections are all rather sparse. Some more information should be added just to expand it out a little and improve the overall flow of the article.
• "In November 2011, Neuer won €500,000 for his foundation" - what foundation? This is the first and only mention of it in the article. More information please.

4 Neutrality

• "He did not disappoint"
• "heroics"
• "The game featured great play from both keepers"
• "he was especially praised for his "sensational" performance."
• "like many other notable footballers, such as Mesut Özil."

5 Images

• Copyright info and captions are good. While not a requirement for GA, I recommend adding alt text.

• While there is a lot to be done, with a concerted effort I feel the article can attain GA status.
• I am placing this article on hold for seven days to allow you to fix the problems listed. If the work is completed before then, I will pass the article before the seven days are up. If no attempts are made to correct the problems, I will fail the article in seven days. If you are not finished within the seven days, I have no problem in extending the hold period to allow you to finish, as long as I see work is being carried out on the article.
