Mangalorean Catholic names and surnames → Mangalorean Catholic names — The current title is longer than necessary. I can see nothing in the article to suggest that "Mangalorean Catholic names and surnames" is in common usage. The porposed title would bring the article into line with the majority of articles in Category:Names by culture. Green Giant (talk) 18:29, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
- Oh if it's the norm, then please go ahead! :-) Joyson Prabhu Holla at me! 18:35, 27 February 2012 (UTC)

- Support move to Mangalorean Catholic name. Looking at Category:Names by culture, it would seem that most articles use the singular form, which is also in accordance with WP:SINGULAR. Favonian (talk) 22:55, 5 March 2012 (UTC)
Discussion
[edit]- Question: Is there any particular reason why the title needs to distinguish between names and surnames? Surnames are also names so, on the face of it, it would appear that the simpler title is the better one. Comments? --regentspark (comment) 21:38, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
- No objections on my part, as shortening the title would make it conform to the norm. Joyson Prabhu Holla at me! 07:18, 28 February 2012 (UTC)

Does the article discuss about given names or pet names?
[edit]Looks like the article does not distinguish between given names and pet names. Normally there is no much difference between the Portuguese pronunciation and mangalorean, however English pronunciation does differ. Author seems to have no regard to the fact that Portuguese pronunciation does not follow English phonetics.
There is a need to edit the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.164.26.30 (talk) 16:09, 12 April 2014 (UTC)
