Story line
[edit]The wording of story section is the same (word for word) as in the page of the original book. Since the book's page says that both films have taken liberties with the plot, the accuracy should be disputed, or at least the article changed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.158.74.101 (talk) 22:59, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Man on Fire 1987 VHS.jpg
[edit]Image:Man on Fire 1987 VHS.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 03:36, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
Novel characters to film characters
[edit]- Marcus Creasy - John Creasy
- Pinta Balletto - Samantha Balletto
- Rika Balletto - Jane Balletto
- Because in the movie Ettore never tries to commit fraud, Jane never gets angry with him. Instead the servant Bruno Lezzi betrays the family.
- Ettore Balletto - same name
- But in this movie he does not play a part in insurance fraud, and is not killed
- Vico Mansutti - Michael
- But Michael is not involved in fraud, and does not betray the girl
- Guido Aurellio - David (I think)
- Mario Satta - Satta
- Massimo Bellu - Bellu
- Elio - Elio
- Elio is referred to (as David's brother) but I don't think he appears
Rabbia, Sandri, and Conti are the only named mafia figures I know of in the 1987 movie, with Conti being the leader. In the novel the mafia background was more extensive, with a man named Cantarella being the leader. In the novel Conti was a mafia boss in Rome, but not the ultimate leader. Richardson source
[edit]The Richardson source says:
- "Oh, don't be sucked in by the big names on the marquee. Brooke Adams has a tiny cameo, and Danny Aiello has one speaking scene."
Seems like many sources point to several big name stars having very small roles. WhisperToMe (talk) 01:26, 3 April 2012 (UTC)

There needs to be a disambiguation entry on this other film with the same title. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.41.98.105 (talk) 02:07, 22 April 2023 (UTC)
