Misspelling

[edit]

I think this page is misleading and inaccurate, but I am not enough of an expert to rewrite it. Firstly, Magnahelic appears to be a common misspelling of Magnehelic [1], which is a trademark owned by Dwyer instruments used to refer to their range of differential low pressure gauges. Secondly, they are used for many different applications, not the single application described in the article. Thirdly, they make gauges with scales that read in many different pressure units (the article only mentions two). Fourthly, I believe there are other manufacturers who make very similar gauges but don't use the trademarked Magnehelic brand name. Alex Holden (talk) 08:36, 24 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I'm tagging this article as needing an expert. If it's true that this is merely a misspelling, then let's move the page to its correct name. However, if there are two different things, described respectively by the reg'd trademark 'Magnehelic' vs. a common noun 'magnahelic', then this article ought to distinguish between those. And in any case, someone should take a view of how much of the original content, or the current one, or both, is valid and worth keeping. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 12:58, 17 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
