Who Was Her Mother?
[edit]The article does not say. John Paul Parks (talk) 16:59, 24 December 2010 (UTC)
Citation needed
[edit]The lead has the statement "She was the first woman, and second African American, to hold the position.", but this doesn't seem to be backed up by any cited text in the body of the article or by an inline citation. Something to be clarified: please resolve. Thanks, dave souza, talk 18:04, 28 September 2009 (UTC)
- Done, though the "second Af-Am" appears to be WP:OR so I removed it. Since she resigned the Web page changed at that address changed. No worries, though, thanks to Google Cache.--Happysomeone (talk) 19:01, 28 September 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks, that seems supported and there is also confirmation that she's African American, though nothing I've seen about second. Could you put an inline cite to that source for the statement, or mention the issue in the text along with an inline cite? Or have I missed something? . . dave souza, talk 20:32, 28 September 2009 (UTC)
Placing too much information in the lede
[edit]While the addition of career information by Luritadoan is helpful, it doesn't belong in the lede paragraph of the article. See WP:LEDE. Are you really Lurita Doan? If so, that also might present a problem.--Happysomeone (talk) 17:46, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
Original Research/Synthesis in resignation
[edit]For everyone's benefit, I'm excising the relevant part of my old discussion and pasting it here with regards to the claim that "no action was taken" against Doan. It doesn't say that anywhere in the cite. It also doesn't mention an important finding from the US Office of Special Counsel. This quote is 1) In violation of WP:OR and WP:SYNTH and 2) Is factually incorrect. Here's the old discussion:
"It is true that she was never found in a court to have violated any law (2). This is, however, due solely to the fact that the agency responsible for prosecution is the Office of the President (as she is a Presidential appointee, and not under the Merit Systems Protection Board's purview). It is therefore disingenuous to suggest in this way that this is nothing more than "interagency personality conflict." This conflict reaches into the top tier of our government. The article, as it now stands and properly cited, demonstrates Doan [7] was found in violation of Federal law by an investigative body and should be left unedited."
