More references
[edit]The Oxford Companion to Chess suggests that Harold James Ruthven Murray's book A History of Chess should have more info on Lucena. Does anyone who has it like to expand the article? Quale 04:51, 19 April 2007 (UTC)
Philidor's legacy
[edit]Is the book that refers to "Philidor's legacy" Lucena's or Salvios? François-André Danican Philidor was not born until 1726, so is it a different Philidor, or is the article wrong? Bubba73 (You talkin' to me?), 03:21, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
Birth year 1465 or 1475 ??
[edit]We have a problem. This page lists both the years 1465 and 1475 as the birth year of Ramirez. Unfortunately it may be troublesome to correct as Google, World Pantheon, Chess.com, Arves and some other "reputable" websites including MyHeritage.com have used this Wikipedia page as their source, and they conflict-- some say '65 some say '75. One of those is a typo, but they've both been copied by others so I can't find a reliable source online. If no one else finds the hardcopy data I am considering calling a library for help. There must be a biography of the man. An actual book. 2603:800C:1100:D31:EEE5:7F04:6E27:C774 (talk) 13:37, 24 May 2024 (UTC)
