Ludovico or Ludwig?

[edit]

Ludovico or Ludwig? The Italian and French articles use the former, whereas most of the other languages use something closer to the latter. I went with Ludovico because the Italian page claimed him as an Italian painter, and yet he was of German origin. His name appears both ways in various English sources.

How his name is listed right now seems fine to me, although it might be worth adding the "of German origin" bit to the article. It's fairly common for articles to list another name in the lead if the person changed their name during their lifetime, or was otherwise well-known by a different name (e.g. serial killers like Jeffrey Dahmer, who was dubbed the "Milwaukee Cannibal" in the press), so I don't think there would be a problem here.
