Missing books
[edit]Your Article is missing a number of books he has written.

[edit]- I oppose in this case - he used both variants till his death and the variant "Luděk" is the original one.--Ioannes Pragensis 10:48, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
Torture
[edit]- Did any Wiki editor vet the dramatic statement's "almost tortured to death" source? Ref 4 -> NYTimes article and only mentions his arrest. There is absolutely no indication that he was otherwise abused, and certainly not tortured to death.
Now, if such a statement was contained in Pachman's "Prague Spring" it would be valid to include, but it must be properly referenced.
Wiki editors, what say you? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.237.103.173 (talk) 13:02, 18 June 2014 (UTC)
- Ref 3, Pachman's "Modern Chess Tactics" is also used as a source for the torture statement, but again, without page numbers.
Given the seriousness of such a statement, and the lack of other references, I believe such a statement must be either removed or elaborated. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.237.103.173 (talk) 13:13, 18 June 2014 (UTC)
- There is a reference online, http://www.chesshistory.com/winter/extra/pachman.html , where in a letter to Bohatirchuk Pachman talks explicitly about being tortured . This would be a potential reference, and one that could be verified online.
‘... the 16 months of interrogation and torture to which I was subjected. From this imprisonment I was released half-dead, and though three centimetres shorter due to serious injury to my spinal chord, healed in spirit. Immediately after release from prison I returned to the Church and somewhat later (in an interview for Associated Press) publicly explained my reasons for my total break with Marxism. This led to my second imprisonment, where I was sentenced to two years in jail and, soon, to expatriation.’
Including the quote in the wiki article might be appropriate. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.237.103.173 (talk) 13:20, 18 June 2014 (UTC)
Exaggerated Statements
[edit]- Bobby Fischer was "enraged" after losing to Pachman? Source?
Actually, what does this mean, and why is such a flippant statement made here without any additional context, collaboration, or elaboration. IMO, as is, it's just conjecture and should be removed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.237.103.173 (talk) 13:07, 18 June 2014 (UTC)
