Are we sure he's 6'5? I thought he was 6'4 tall. --Stoa 23:26, 6 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"...he became the first Fiorentina player to score a hat-trick for the Italian national team in a 2006 World Cup Qualifying match". This is awfully specific. First Fiorentina player? Do we know who the first Roma player to score a hat-trick in a World Cup Qualifying match was? Why don't we just say "...he scored a hat-trick for the ...'"? — Asbestos | Talk (RFC) 18:54, 8 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

After he scores a goal he moves his right hand near his ear. . . and pretends to screw something (either on or off). Does anyone know what this move means? July 3 2006

  • Yes. The move means that he has done something out of ordinary, he wants to say "look what i've done" or something like that.

"In all fairness" isn't base for an encyclopedia, post facts not opinions.

This page is hardly wiki quality. If no one objects, I will be doing major rehaul...--Ioshus(talk) 01:11, 7 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bayern

[edit]

you should make note that its pretty much assured that Toni is transferring to Bayern Munich at the end of the season —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.153.42.181 (talkcontribs)

Unfortunately "pritty (sic) much assured" does not pass the test for verifiability.--Ytny (talk) 11:58, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

striker?

[edit]

i could easily be wrong but isn't he a centre forward or an attacking midfielder as well? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.156.172.58 (talk) 23:00, 1 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Varchetta Delle Cave

[edit]

Is this part of his surname or is it just something that's added on? As far as I know Italians only have one surname. Spiderone (talk) 16:01, 6 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

his name is only Luca Toni. Varchetta delle Cave is the name of the municipality division where he was born--93.39.219.162 (talk) 18:33, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Same as Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci means Leonardo son of Piero of Vinci --Romangelo (talk) 06:39, 21 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

NAME

[edit]

I'm italian. in a recent interview he said that his name is ONLY luca toni!!!!! not varchetta delle cave!!!!! it's a misinformation!!! i edited two times the name!!!! but "someone" has canceled my edits!!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.30.164.237 (talk) 17:28, 24 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

So can you provide any sources for this? FIFA.com claims that his full name is Luca Toni Varchetta Delle Cave. ----Jaellee (talk) 18:22, 24 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
italian wiki says he said it at Corriere dello Sport, an italian sport newspaper93.32.244.215 (talk) 12:09, 25 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Luca Toni

[edit]

Is it true that he is knighted? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.205.118.180 (talk) 20:57, 17 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

All 23 members of 2006 world champion squad gained title "OMRI" so yes, he's a knight. --Romangelo (talk) 06:42, 21 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

He is playing in Hellas Verona... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.14.185.4 (talk) 23:09, 22 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Luca Toni has now played 100 games with Verona and scored 51 goals. His stats are a little behind and should be updated. MattSalzani (talk) 19:58, 10 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. EvergreenFir (talk) Please {{re}} 21:23, 10 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@MattSalzani: It is 100 caps and 51 goals total. However, in the infobox, it is only LEAGUE caps and goals. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 23:39, 10 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Luca Toni's celebration

[edit]

I think it would be interest to add, that Luca Toni's celebration is in collaboration with his long time teammate Pazzini, whom he played with in Fiorentina and Verona. His celebration signals "Do you hear me", and Pazzini's is "Do you see me". — Preceding unsigned comment added by Stein12 (talkcontribs) 23:27, 5 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
