Ellis Island records

[edit]

An anonymous user has brought up a similar matter wrongly at Peter Tomich as well as here, so I'm moving the contradictory note to talk until a secondary source confirms the controversy:

He returned from Europe to the United States only in 1921, according to Ellis Island Immigration Records.

Vjekoslav Lujo

[edit]

I was unable to find a credible source confirming that Louis Cukela ever used these names. In addition, I saw some Serbian source claiming that his first name was Luka, the other source mentioned his family name as Djukelich. To avoid any Serbia-Croatia clash I removed 'Vjekoslav Lujo'.--Milos zankov (talk) 17:51, 21 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The name Vjekoslav was actually trivial to find in LZMK publications that are online today. Not sure about Lujo, the best I can see now is the entry in CE but it's a much shorter article. --Joy (talk) 17:45, 23 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Knowledge of german language?

[edit]

Since he was born and raised in the Austro-Hungarian Empire, he probably spoke at least a little bit german. Maybe that helped him fooling the german troopers. Any information on his language skills? 82.113.121.101 (talk) 21:21, 31 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
