  • Written 2020 → they said about their album, but there is no indication of this song. It could have been written in 2019. Too much WP: OR

  • Missing reviews, background and a lot more. The lead is a summary of all the sections in the body of the article

Background

[edit]
  • "Spacey Jane first debuted "Lots of Nothing" during a performance"... → first debut?
  • "Harper appeared on Triple J's Breakfast program Bryce & Ebony, where he premiered the song" → how many times can you debut a song?
  • "Lots of Nothing" was released later that day → again? This was for streaming services, download, radio or soemthing else?
  • The prose needs serious re-writing here.

Recording

[edit]
  • Move the information here to the composition section
  • Written by the band's four members—Caleb Harper, Ashton Hardman-le Cornu, Kieran Lama and Peppa Lane—"Lots of Nothing" was recorded and mixed by Dave Parkin at Blackbird Sound Studio, and mastered by Brian Lucey at Magic Garden Mastering → "Lots of Nothing" was written by the band's four members, Caleb Harper, Ashton Hardman-le Cornu, Kieran Lama and Peppa Lane. Critical reception

[edit]
  • The reviews from Amnplify, Backseat Mafia, Pilerats and MilkyMilkyMilky have to be removed (see below on references)
  • Nathan Jolly of Guardian Australia; Chastity Hale of NPR, Alex Gallagher of Music Feeds; Simon Collins of PerthNow.... → do see what's going on here? use "from", "writing for", "possessive form"...avoid repetition

Accolades

[edit]
  • Remove the table, it was only one publication
  • Add the nomiantion below here, but spell it out, no need for a table

Awards and nominations

[edit]
  • Move the nomination for the accolade section above

Commercial performance

[edit]
  • On 10 July 2021, "Lots of Nothing" was one of MTV Australia's playlist additions for that week. → first wrong section, something live release. Secondly, is this even relevant?
  • By 14 October 2021, "Lots of Nothing" had accumulated more than 3 million streams on Spotify. → Completely irrelevant

[edit]
  • Merge this with the section below (Music Video) and re-title it to promotion

References

[edit]
  • Amplify doesn't strike me as a reliable source, serious doubts as there is no team, and the founder seems to have written every article.
  • Pilerats is more of the same, their team doesn't seem to have any background besides loving music.
  • Source check: 8-11, 13-18, 20 and 21
  • On reference 20 the nomination source will be enough, no need to add the winners since they weren't one
  • Riff Magazine is a reliable source
  • Backseat mafia doesn't look like a reliable source, since their Writer/Senior Editor, Arun Kendall, doesn't have any journalistic degree nor has written for a reliable source
  • MilkyMilkyMilky article is composed of several pieces taken from reliable sources, wit very little input to the article. No writer, no evidence of staff on their website
[edit]
  • Remove, its already on the infobox

Overall

[edit]
  • There is a clear copyright violation on a backseatmafia source. See
  • Make better use of some sources, NPR states " Tension builds throughout the verses, then explodes into the chorus", which also describes the frontman's voice; the guardian also affirmed, "Spacey Jane music is for road trips: those sun-soaked memory-making trips, where everything glistens and glows".
  • I would wait for the album to be released as it is possible that album reviews will contain more information and analysis of the song since it was the lead single.

Sean Stephens I would like to inform you that I have completed the review of this article. Nevertheless, said article has various issues as you can see from the detailed review. I'm willing to put this article on hold for the foreseeable future so that you can address them. Moreover, as it came to my understanding the album from which this song is included will be released soon, which will mean more coverage for this song (very likely) and therefore more work to improve the article. However, if you think this will be unbearable, too much to handle right now or you don't have the time to fix and improve the article please let me know. I will fail it and you will have time to address all the issues whether you want or not. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 17:37, 9 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Sean Stephens If no response is given until next week, I have no other choice than falling the article. It has been a month since I finished the review. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 21:28, 5 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Failing the article due to lack of response from the nominator for more than a month. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 11:54, 12 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
