The 72nd run (where it says citation needed) surely means the 72nd anniversary of the first run? Which is self-evident? Rupertlt (talk) 00:07, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What does it mean to be built before 1905

[edit]

The third sentence of this article correctly states, 'To qualify, the cars must have been built before 1905.' However, in my mind at least, this immediately begs the question of where the limits are. All cars, ancient and modern, need constant repair, so these new additions to the car must be allowed... but at what point does repair cross the line to restoration, and restoration cross the line to 'making a replica' (a copy). Obviously, you cannot address all of this in this article, but still the question comes to the reader's mind (well mine, anyway). Perhaps some editor (and it ought to be one more knowledgeable than I) could add a few words about 'VCC/VCS Certificate of Date', and how they have their established guidelines to help them come to a fair verdict. Just my thoughts. TheAMmollusc (talk) 08:11, 4 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Duryea at the Emancipation Run

[edit]

The result of Duryea the is ambiguously worded. The "Emancipation Run" was won by the two Bollée voiturettes, as shown further down in the results table, which by the way lacks a source for the claim of third place for the Duryea (the source given names Finch-Hatton on Panhard as third). Here are the official results as remembered by Selwin Edge, which seem to concur. Cheers  hugarheimur 09:08, 14 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
