"The next day, Roosevelt took the U.S. off the gold standard."
[edit]I'm having real trouble finding citations for this. It's certainly not mentioned anywhere on Franklin Delano Roosevelt or gold standard. Considering the size of the claim I thought it'd be prudent to ask for a separate citation, given that I can't check the book. I originally deleted the sentence outright and then decided that might be too quick of a decision for me to make.
I might just be an idiot, of course. If I am, please inform me of such. The Last Melon (talk) 22:36, 19 February 2013 (UTC)
- I added the cite--it happened in April 1933 says H. W. Brands, Traitor to His Class: The Privileged Life and Radical Presidency of Franklin Delano Roosevelt (2008) pp 327-8 -- Brands is an expert on political and economic history. Rjensen (talk) 22:44, 19 February 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you. I've done a bit more reading and it turns out that I, in fact, am an idiot, but thank you for being nice about it. The Last Melon (talk) 22:48, 19 February 2013 (UTC)
