Confusion of great observatory / greenhouses
[edit]The following comments were added on July 18 2008 to the main article by user 82.44.208.65. These are better suited to the talk page:
- "As an ex-member of staff I can say that the above statement is incorrect. The 'London Butterfly House' was never housed in the Great Conservatory. Therefore the images of the 'Great Conservatory' (pictured here) have little relevance to Butterfly House itself. The business resided in three 'purpose built' greenhouses which were situated on the exact opposite side of Syon Park to the Great Conservatory, adjacent to the trout fishery.
- In November/December 2007 the forementioned greenhouses were demolished and the site where the butterfly house once stood is currently vacant, awaiting development."
On the basis of this information I suggest therefore that the article is split into two - with information and pictures for the Great Observatory being added to the Syon House article and the London Butterfly House info remaining.
I've no doubt that the above comments are true (having been there it makes sense really!) however word of mouth isn't sufficient reference for Wikipedia so please can you add a reference. I'll look for a reference myself and make these changes in the next few days if no more response... extraordinary (talk) 08:51, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
I've changed it now, with references. By the way those references have a load of other information about the Butterfly House so could help expand the article if anyone wants to do this before i get round to it. extraordinary (talk) 09:33, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
