WikiProject Disambiguation Talk Request
[edit]This is a form message being sent to all WikiProject Disambiguation participants. I recently left a proposed banner idea on the WikiProject Disambiguation talk page and I would appreciate any input you could provide. Before it can be approved or denied, I would prefer a lot of feedback from multiple participants in the project. So if you have the time please join in the discussion to help improve the WikiProject. Keep up the good work in link repair and thanks for your time. Nehrams2020 22:17, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
That was an ideal job for a bot. It's done now. Feel free to move it to "done". --Russ (talk) 17:47, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit]I appreciate the link clean-up you did at Independent Women's Forum. I've spent a lot of time working on that article, but I never culled all the garbage from those internal links that I copied and pasted. Cheers, DickClarkMises 20:15, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Harcourtassessment.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Harcourtassessment.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 11:47, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

Clapham
[edit]I have no particular bone to pick on this one, but I would have thought that the ability for the public to descend Gaping Gill on the winch is still a local amenity worth mentioning - whether or not it's organised by the Cave Rescue Organisation. It does attract many people to the village.
I would like to see the sentence reinstated. Langcliffe (talk) 15:51, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
Responded on Langcliffe's talk page. extraordinary (talk) 09:08, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
Thanks, Extraordinary. I didn't put the comment on the Clapham page, as I have recently upset someone who felt that they "owned" a page, and did not welcome suggestions. I have updated the page, but the winch meet in the context of a visit to Ingleborough Show Cave. I haven't put in links to the caving club winch meets, as they are currently on the Gaping Gill page, and I'm not too keen on duplicated data which can readily change. All England goalscorers

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Flatpack (electronics), and it appears to be very similar to another wikipedia page: Flat pack. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case.
This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 18:40, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Jinny
[edit]The article Jinny has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- The notability hasn't been established since May....
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. PorkHeart (talk) 10:30, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
Please unblock me!
[edit]{{unblock|Hi, i'm blocked from editing when i'm in my office. I get the following message when try to edit the sandbox - "95.131.110.104 has been disabled by ProcseeBot". It says it's because of an "Open Proxy". I've no idea what this means! But presumably it's been blocked due to abuse from other who share this same IP (it's a big building)? Are you able to remove me from this block so i can still edit wikipedia? If this is something technical i need to discuss with my IT department can you let me know the details so i can pass it on? Thanks}}
It's easier in this case for us to just give you an IP block exemption as long as you're a user in good standing, as you appear to be. So I did. Daniel Case (talk) 14:38, 12 April 2011 (UTC)
- Daniel, many thanks for sorting this out, much appreciated! extraordinary (talk) 11:48, 14 April 2011 (UTC)
IP block exempt
[edit]I have granted your account an exemption from IP blocking. This will allow you to edit through full blocks affecting your IP address when you are logged in.
Please read the page Wikipedia:IP block exemption carefully, especially the section on IP block exemption conditions.
Note in particular that you are not permitted to use this newly-granted right to edit Wikipedia via anonymous proxies, or disruptively. If you do, or there is a serious concern of abuse, then the right may be removed by any administrator.
Appropriate usage and compliance with the policy may be checked periodically, due to the nature of block exemption, and block exemption will be removed when no longer needed (for example, when the block it is related to expires).
I hope this will enhance your editing, and allow you to edit successfully and without disruption. Daniel Case (talk) 14:37, 12 April 2011 (UTC)
Non-free rationale for File:Pomodorovaticansphere.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Pomodorovaticansphere.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 22:46, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
- I'm not quite sure what you want me to do? The copyright notice on it is a wikipedia template. It says something about works of art being fair use. Are you saying that's not the case? In which case why does that template exist? And there's also a line saying why and where it is used which i guess is a suitable explanation. If not, then do you want to tell me what would be? Anyway, i'm no expert on it so if photos of sculptures can't be uploaded then please go ahead and delete. Cheers. extraordinary (talk) 14:22, 19 July 2012 (UTC)
Disambiguation link fixing one-day contest
[edit]I have decided to put on a mini-contest within the November 2013 monthly disambiguation contest, on Saturday, November 23 (UTC). I will personally give a $20 Amazon.com gift card to the disambiguator who fixes the most links on that server-day (see the project page for details on scoring points). Since we are not geared up to do an automated count for that day, at 00:00, 23 November 2013 (UTC) (which is 7:00 PM on November 22, EST), I'll take a screenshot of the project page leaderboard. I will presume that anyone who is not already listed on the leaderboard has precisely nine edits. At 01:00, 24 November 2013 (UTC) (8:00 PM on November 23, EST), I'll take a screenshot of the leaderboard at that time (the extra hour is to give the board time to update), and I will determine from that who our winner is. I will credit links fixed by turning a WP:DABCONCEPT page into an article, but you'll have to let me know me that you did so. Here's to a fun contest. Note that according to the Daily Disambig, we currently have under 256,000 disambiguation links to be fixed. If everyone in the disambiguation link fixers category were to fix 500 links, we would have them all done - so aim high! Cheers! bd2412 T 02:23, 18 November 2013 (UTC)

Possible removal of AWB access due to inactivity
[edit]Hello! There is currently a request for approval of a bot to manage the AutoWikiBrowser CheckPage by removing inactive users, among other tasks. You are being contacted because you may qualify as an inactive user of AWB. First, if you have any input on the proposed bot task, please feel free to comment at the BRFA. Should the bot task be approved, your access to AWB may be uncontroversially removed if you do not resume editing within a week's time. This is purely for routine maintenance of the CheckPage, and is not indicative of wrongdoing on your part. You will be able regain access at any time by simply requesting it at WP:PERM/AWB. Thank you! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 23:36, 8 November 2016 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:Pomodorovaticansphere.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Pomodorovaticansphere.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:30, 24 April 2022 (UTC)
