I think the fern pictured on the article page is Blechnum capense (see photo at http://www.trevenacross.co.uk/shop/pics.asp?plantid=89). Blechnum discolor is known as crown fern (and fits the page description). I think I have a picture of it of my own I would be willing to make public domain. Notes on B. discolor here: http://www.fronds.co.nz/products/Fronds_Ground+Ferns/Blechnum+discolor+-+Crown+fern/18

Blechnum capense, the fern illustrated, is very common on road cuttings in native forest areas of NZ. I will find out more. It is also known as Blechnum novae-zealandiae. See http://www.fronds.co.nz/products/Fronds_Ground+Ferns/Blechnum+novae-zealandiae+-+Gully+fern/5 for more information.Pkeestra (talk) 22:05, 7 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed the image from this article. If you could upload a subsitute image to Commons that would be great! Melburnian (talk) 03:09, 8 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I am a bit of a novice. Can you point me to a set of nstructions on how to upload images? I have a photo of B. discolor I took myself (not a particularly fine example but recognisable) Pkeestra (talk) 05:14, 10 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ignore above - I worked it out. There is a photo of B. discolor now at http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Nz_crown_fern.jpg. Does someone else have to identify it before uploading? Nzgeoguy (talk) 01:26, 15 April 2010 (UTC) (note I changed my username)[reply]

Sorry, I missed your previous message and thanks for the upload. You don't need to get a second opinion for putting photos in articles per WP:Bold, but any time you want one you can always ask at WT:PLANTS. I've placed it in the article. Thanks again!
