Start classification

[edit]

I have classified this article as a start. It would be good if it had a userbox, photo and bibliography. Capitalistroadster 04:36, 7 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I cannot come up with a source on this, but I am positive that the original tag line for Smuckers was, "With a name like Smuckers, it's GOT to be good." I believe that stayed with the account during all or part of the 1960s. It always used to bug me as a copywriter and even more when I worked as a production assistant for the New York-based "Tonight" show unit at NBC. At some time during the next years, it was changed to, "With a name like Smuckers, it (simply) HAS to be good." The word "simply" might have been an "ad lib". I began to realize the change when I watched the "Today" show during the salute to 100 year old viewers by weatherman Willard Scott. Thanks goodness for CORRECT grammar!
