Merger proposal
[edit]List of Grade I listed buildings in Lancashire and Listed Buildings in Lancashire seem to cover largely the same content therefore I suggest they should be merged.— Rod talk 18:23, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
Listed Buildings in Lancashire have grade II and grade II* there aswell! i like to be able to look at them all in one place! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bankhallbretherton (talk • contribs) 23:21, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
- Very late, but 100% agree with Rodw. In fact as its scope is so great it ought to be deleted. The Grade II section could be a made into list from Blackpool as it has so many references.--J3Mrs (talk) 12:22, 14 June 2011 (UTC)
- There are 70 Grade I listed buildings in Lancashire, 256 at Grade II*, and 4901 at Grade II. Does that help the decision?!
- Perhaps it should act as a kind of list of lists, pointing to the Grade I article, and any location-specific articles. Or, it could be just prose, more like Listed buildings in Liverpool. Or a combination of both. It's extremely unrealistic to list 5000+ buildings, and I don't think there's much point picking just a few to list.--BelovedFreak 22:34, 18 June 2011 (UTC)

- Those are both good suggestions. I think the combination would be a way forward.--J3Mrs (talk) 21:46, 19 June 2011 (UTC)
Rod (see above) is probably the expert at this sort of thing. His work is at Grade I listed buildings in Somerset and has resulted in 1 GA and 7 FLs (making a Featured Topic), by dividing the county into areas. A model to follow? --Peter I. Vardy (talk) 12:05, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
- I've decided to be bold and convert this article into a list of lists, per Belovedfreak above. As it was this was woefully incomplete, and a single list of 5000 or more buildings isn't really feasible anyway, the lists of buildings by civil parish that we now have seem to be the way forward. It may need more work but at least this article has a bit of purpose now. PC78 (talk) 20:28, 21 April 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for doing that. It makes sense. You may have noticed that I have been creating lists of listed buildings in Lancashire in all grades parish by parish. I am currently working through the parishes of Lancaster and will add (provided that I remember) to add them to this list as each is completed. Good (bold) work. --Peter I. - Hi Peter, thanks for the comment. I did notice that many of these lists were written by you, that's a lot of good work you've been putting in. In fact you've inspired me to have a crack at writing one myself! Cheers. PC78 (talk) 23:15, 25 April 2015 (UTC)
