Beginning of The Smurfs

There is an edit needing to be made regarding the starting year of The Smurfs. It is currently listed under the year 1981 in the article, but The Smurfs actually began as a comic in 1958 and the first animated work was in 1961. MadeasGrits is not sure how this information should be categorized, therefore believes one more knowledgeable should make the proper edit. Ꮧ𝘞 (talk) 14:07, 14 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

What is the point of this article?

Can any of the contributers to this article explain what it does that isnˋt a duplication of both the animation categories, and the individual year articles? For instance, what is in this article for 1998 that isnˋt in 1988 in animation? What is achieved that canˋt be seen in the 1988 animated films category ?

It's not a good summary. No attempt is made to summarise each year, or give any context, or explanation. It simply lists example after example of animation, with no indication of what criteria is being used for inclusion. Unless there is none, and it's intent is to include everything? Why, for example, is Alice (1988 film) included, but Abel's Island not?
