07/23 Improvements

[edit]

I have just made some substantial improvements to this list. It is still very lacking, and there are several things that still need to be done. Here are a few things that need to be worked on. I plan to come back and keep editing in the future, and if anyone wants to help out that would be great! Feedback & suggestions appreciated! *

  • Comprehensive sourcing
  • Evaluating the comprehensiveness of this list (I know for a fact there are several houses missing, and I wouldnt be surprised if a few buildings are too)
  • Writing notes & descriptions where possible (Wikipedia:Featured list criteria)
  • Addressing redlinks
  • Plan for listing buildings built by his former firm (now Meier Partners) now that he's retired

Update!
What has been done so far:
  • Converted the list to a sortable table
  • Added more entries from Frampton's book "Richard Meier"
  • Transitioned roughly all existing 1960-1999 entries to the official catalog's info & citation
  • Written a background & criteria section
There is still a lot to be done to improve this article. Here would be my prioritization of actions:
  • Finding sources to address the citation needed templates
  • Filling in the 1960-1999 section completely using the official catalog
  • Creating an "unbuilt" section and including all 1960-1999 unbuilt works from the official catalog
  • Moving on to later catalogs (2000-2018)
  • Notes, descriptions, categorizations
Adjacent goals:
  • Address redlinks & evaluate the need for other individual building pages
  • Create WIki pages for Richard Meier & Partners, Meier Partners, and STUDIOpractice
  • Evaluate the need for and possibility of a separate list of works for the Meier Partners & STUDIOpractice firm for post-2018 work
As always, I am constantly looking for feedback and thoughts - I'm still learning and there's a lot to do here! SSR07 (talk) 22:47, 17 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
