Orphaned references in List of war crimes
I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of List of war crimes's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
Reference named "Newsweek":
- From Ban Ki-moon: Lally Weymouth (23 October 2006). "A Baptism by Fire; Even before taking office, the newly elected secretary-general of the United Nations is confronted with a global crisis". Newsweek.
- From No Gun Ri massacre: "I Still Hear Screams". Newsweek. 1999-10-10.
- From Dasht-i-Leili massacre: http://www.newsweek.com/id/65473/output/print
I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT⚡ 07:07, 16 August 2017 (UTC)

Illegal blockade of Germany
The British maintained an illegally implemented blockade of Germany during WWI, resulting in the starvation of hundreds of thousands or more.
This isnt a war crime.

Subtle Ninja-Edits of Numbers
This is currently a non-issue but I will just highlight the need to check figures in case this arises again. This edit [1] there was a number of ninja edits to the section on Crimes Attributed to Ustasha. An edit had changed a figure citing the Wiesenthal Centre from 500,000 to 50,000. User:Atcovi corrected the ninja-edit so its no longer an issue, here [2]. From the Wiesenthal Centre link: "Created in 1930, Ustasa was a Croatian nationalist terrorist organization. Its members' hatred of the Jews was only rivaled by their hatred of the Serbs. Brought to power after Hitler created a Croatian puppet state in 1941, Ustasa terrorists killed 500,000 Serbs, expelled 250,000 and forced 250,000 to convert to Catholicism. They murdered thousands of Jews and Gypsies". [3] — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.112.21.209 (talk) 21:00, 19 January 2019 (UTC) 174.112.21.209 (talk) 21:01, 19 January 2019 (UTC)
Recent Edit War on User Adding "Disputed" To Some Events
Recent edits have been made to this page here [4]. Since the previous edits ended in a mini-edit war, I'm just going to go ahead and leave the matter while raising the issue. The edits made are in reference to List of war crimes#1955–1975: Vietnam War, specifically for the events list where the edits places a "(disputed)" brackets into the second column for Thuy Bo incident, Tiger Force and Operation Speedy Express. The user does the same for the list of South Korean events listed goo. A quick check on these show none of them indicate a dispute, there is no link or reference, neither is there any discussion on a real dispute in the actual articles. This seems like a the user is injecting opinion onto this page as a quick scan shows the user is active on the Talk page of some corresponding articles.
My two complaints are that this creates WP:OR and WP:BIAS I had raised this with the user and suggested he re-make the edits and place it in the Notes column with appropriate details and links hence leading to the edit war. As these are unsourced, unreferenced and does not even discuss a dispute in the articles linked, this creates WP:OR for this page and by placing them in inappropriate columns near the wikilink lead this also does create WP:BIAS in my opinion. This page lists many other events which have some disputed merits to it, and appropriately discussed on those pages. None of these are indicated on this index page.
I'm not going to raise anymore edits, nor will I reply. The user in question feels obligated to label all Canadian IPs as a sockpuppet, as strange as this reasoning is and seems to be trying to elevate things to a personal level. This isn't worth my time to do so. 174.113.101.67 (talk) 12:43, 30 January 2019 (UTC)
- Just to note. The user has RVd once again, calling me a sockpuppet despite no evidence to the actual fact here [5]. Not worth my time to edit war and escalate into juvenile behavior, just going to raise attention to this petty vandalism and injection of WP:OR. 174.113.101.67 (talk) 07:02, 1 February 2019 (UTC)
- Because you are sock of A bicyclette continuing to engage in edit-warring behaviour even though you are blocked. As usual you give your mini-novella justifications for your actions. Mztourist (talk) 07:26, 1 February 2019 (UTC)
- Right you are claiming I'm a sock because I happen to be Canadian with a Canadian IP. This is sound logic!. Pity you don't have better things to do with your time than this nonsense. 174.113.101.67 (talk) 04:22, 3 February 2019 (UTC)
- Its WP:DUCK that an IP from the same geographic area appears out of nowhere and one of its first edits is making the same controversial changes to a page as previous IP Socks of A bicyclette. Mztourist (talk) 07:59, 3 February 2019 (UTC)

List of alleged war crimes
It is a list of war crimes and ALLEGED war crimes since it contains allegations about war crimes.
e.g.
"Allegations of war crimes in the 2006 Lebanon War refer to claims of various groups and individuals, including Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, and United Nations officials, who accused both Hezbollah and Israel of violating international humanitarian law during the 2006 Lebanon War, and warned of possible war crimes"
- The list should be very clear -only war crimes recognized as such by the international war court should be listed. Lebanon is not the case, so doesn't belong.GreyShark (dibra) 11:04, 17 December 2019 (UTC)
Vietnam War Crimes
It seems to me that there's an awful lot of small crimes committed by GI's on the list, but the continuing captivity, torture, and murder of American POW's is not listed. It seems a bit biased. Bobafett5204 (talk) 03:13, 14 December 2019 (UTC)
I came to this page for other reasons, but yes. The prosecution of the war by North Viet Nam relied on war crimes as a matter of policy. The regular use of civilians as bait and the abuse of POWs are perhaps the most well known. The treatment of John McCain probably merits a separate entity besides the general treatment of POWs. This is particularly important given that Viet Nam is attempting to whitewash their POW treatment. NathanZook (talk) 23:41, 15 January 2020 (UTC)

Operation Chastise
Should Chastise be added to the list of war crimes by the UK? (Westerhaley (talk) 16:57, 15 May 2021 (UTC))
Create page about Chinese War Crimes
They claim to have recorded history as early as 1250 BC (although the dynasties and its rulers varied, including some foreign rulers). During the 3271+ years, there are undoubtedly a lot more war crimes. Nearly every major country has a page about war crimes. The 1950, invasion of Tibet by the CPC was followed by oppression and genocide. Thus there should also be a page about Chinese War Crimes. The history log of this page ' https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_war_crimes ' shows it was deleted between 10 March 2007 and 26 March 2007. See also this article: China's Textbooks Twist and Omit History, and Chinese War Crimes in Vietnam (by Vietnam Courier, Hanoi 1979). The abscense of such a page gives the false impression that there weren't any war crimes throughout the claimed 3000 year history. -Artanisen (talk) 09:53, 15 January 2022 (UTC)
On going war crimes not mentioned
This is a historically revisionist account of war crimes with the omission of the ongoing occupation of territory by the Israeli state by military force and economic oppression. This occupation which is regarded across the world as illegal in international law is a war crime and has given rise to a series of events and murders that can be classified as war crimes. It should have been given a section of its own in this survey. 2A02:C7E:1C6E:B400:3DA9:E027:4EFE:6AB0 (talk) 09:03, 27 February 2022 (UTC)
