Indicscript in body

[edit]

@DaxServer WP:Indicscript talks about lead and infobox. This table seems to be useful for correct pronounciation. What is the problem if it is kept? Venkat TL (talk) 09:47, 24 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Venkat TL Could you raise the issue on Wikipedia talk:Noticeboard for India-related topics and ask the same? — DaxServer (talk to me) 09:49, 24 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Why? this issue is about this article, This talk page is the best place. If you have no good reason to remove then please don't. That should resolve the disagreement. Venkat TL (talk) 09:51, 24 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@DaxServer Just take Buxar for example. I had read it as Booksar. But the hindi text helped to understand that Buck-sir is the right pronounciation. Venkat TL (talk) 09:53, 24 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Venkat TL You can participate in the discussion at Wikipedia talk:Noticeboard for India-related topics#Indic scripts down in article body — DaxServer (talk to me) 09:59, 24 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Forgot to mention, the issue is rather about Indic scripts, and not just this article, and that's why I suggested the IN noticeboard. — DaxServer (talk to me) 10:00, 24 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I respectfully refuse the invitation. I have already said here all I had to say. We should keep the discussion at one place. Venkat TL (talk) 10:08, 24 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Like I said, the issue is about the usage of Indic scripts and not this article. — DaxServer (talk to me) 10:13, 24 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
There is no Indicscript rule about the body, so my edits are not in conflict of this rule. Moreover these rules are not Testament. The more I read about them, the more I feel some of them need amendments. Venkat TL (talk) 10:23, 24 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • This is absurd. We need to use common sense, this is the English Wikipedia, if we need to clarify pronunciation we should use IPA or ISO script, not add extraneous scripts here.—SpacemanSpiff
