What is the purpose of this article, other than being a union of all the patent inquiries with "steam" as a key word? Does this list show any historical development of steam technology? Is there any distinction between notable, influential, patents and patents that never actually got produced? This seems like an indiscriminate collection of information and is probably not suitable for an encyclopedia article. --Wtshymanski (talk) 20:50, 22 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It has potential - inclusion criteria would help. I suggest including the early patents rather than the latter ones which are less historically crucial. The early ones (18th, 19 century) were highly influential in the development of the steam engine. Widefox; talk11:18, 16 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
