Merge from List of pre-modern states to List of states during the Middle Ages

These lists both cover states from 700 to 1500 AD. Havng both is a total content WP:FORK. tahc ^chat 18:43, 28 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Scope, encyclopedicity

Clearly this can at best be a list of the major powers of the era. There is no point in listing hundeds or thousands of minor polities that are already covered in separate lists, such as List of states in the Holy Roman Empire. Also, the list has to be based on one or several secondary sources who have already performed an encyclopedic selection of major states or polities of the medieval period. Anything else will result in the usual pileup of unusable, unreferenced, unencyclopedic Wikipedia listcruft. --dab (𒁳) 07:46, 5 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
