[edit]Who took 16th-century Spain off the list? Any good reason? — LlywelynII 09:35, 16 October 2018 (UTC)
Debt vs. currency
[edit]This article appears to blur the distinction between a debt crisis (inability to honor scheduled obligations), and a currency crisis (inability to honor current obligations). Sometimes the two are related, as when the US introduced a paper currency to avoid defaulting on its debt during the Civil War, and then defaulted on that currency instead, but I think a distinction can be made. 67.180.143.89 (talk) 16:31, 27 January 2023 (UTC)
Uncited claims
[edit]At some time, someone made edits referring to 19th century defaults by the UK with citations. No response to a request for citations has occurred. A notable source used in the more specialised wiki article directly contradicts the claims. Hence claims have been removed. Please follow correct wikipedia editing procedure by including citations. [edit]The referencing in this list is exceptionally poor. The vast majority of listed events are completely unsourced and have been tagged for quite some time. If this doesn't improve in the near future, I am probably going to start culling the uncited claims from the list. -Ad Orientem (talk) 21:22, 27 October 2024 (UTC)
