[edit]Why limit to "receivers"? There is no separate list of SDR transmitters now. `a5b (talk) 17:40, 7 July 2011 (UTC)
The Chart should be split into three (or more, later) Sections. One Section for Receivers, one for Transmitters, one for Transcievers and possibly another for Direct RF Sampling ADCs. 70.71.107.184 (talk) 18:32, 29 January 2014 (UTC)
MS
[edit]Under "Sampling rate", several entries use "MSPS" or "MS/s". What unit is that? (MS didn't appear to have the answer.) Does this mean millions of samples per second? If so, then they should probably be changed to MHz. Jobarts-Talk 16:40, 22 November 2011 (UTC)

[edit]Just add to freq Range "Tx/Rx" if its a transciever ....
MS , i do belive that "MSPS" and "MS/s" are the same .... "P"= PER, "S"=seconds — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.233.132.107 (talk) 13:48, 20 July 2012 (UTC)
--- There should be a separate column for Transmit Frequency Range Receive Range and Transmit Range can have different values (depending on component and filter) choices, and could want to enable sorting based on whether the field exists at all. Pricing should be done in a consistent currency.
---
- I disagree about pricing. Wikipedia is global and doesn't favor a particular currency; I think the currency used for each radio should be the one under which the item is sold, depending on each item. LjL (talk) 16:30, 17 February 2016 (UTC)

ADC resolution?
[edit]It would be nice to see ADC bit resolution for each SDR if applicable. 93.85.152.172 (talk) 21:43, 5 November 2014 (UTC)

Table sorting by price is incorrect
[edit]Andrey Smirnov (talk) 10:04, 19 March 2021 (UTC) Looks like using currency template inserts links and sorting behaves strange.
- I see that too. The column (mostly) uses tags in the form {{currency|148|USD}} though the benefit of having clickable currencies is small.
- These don't play well with the !data-sort-type="currency" column type.
- Should we add something like | data-sort-value="123" | currency 123 USD | ... to each row, converting between currencies one at a time? Or is there something smarter that sorts by current converted values?

real vs complex sampling
[edit]I suggest that the "sampling rate" column be expanded to indicate whether the device natively produces real or complex samples. For example, the Airspy R2 is shown with a 10 MHz sample rate. It actually samples at 20 MHz with a single (real) A/D converter, and the software driver can convert this to 10 MHz complex samples. This conversion is optional, and I use mine in the native 20 MHz real mode. Karn (talk) 19:51, 6 September 2022 (UTC)
Definition of SDR is evolving
[edit]"A typical amateur software radio uses a direct conversion receiver. Unlike direct conversion receivers of the more distant past, the mixer technologies used are based on the quadrature sampling detector and the quadrature sampling exciter."
Today, with current technology, calling a superhet radio an SDR is not appropriate. Gm5bkc (talk) 15:21, 19 May 2023 (UTC)
- Nothing will be changed in the article without a reliable source WP:RS. You indicate that the sentence above is a quote from somewhere, tell us where and it may prove to be such. Your opinion in the second sentence carries no weight, as we rely on reliable sources, not strangers on the internet's view. - Roxy the dog 16:55, 19 May 2023 (UTC)
Vanteon Wireless tone
[edit]It appears Vanteon had a representative add their products to the list which is nice but the entries need to be corrected to remove the marketing lingo and presales funnel link. 69.131.138.43 (talk) 17:16, 2 December 2023 (UTC)
Duplex capability
[edit]I think it would be good to list whether the device in question has duplex capability. Is this able to be found out? Dan Dart (talk) 12:41, 9 February 2024 (UTC)
