[edit]Um, excuse me, what about President Grover Cleveland??Zanno69 (talk) 10:01, 8 August 2014 (UTC)
After Bruce Willis, this list is no longer alphabetical. Is there any reason for this, or is it just negligence? <KF> 21:06, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
- Following Willis, there was a heading called "Born elsewhere, grew up in New Jersey", which was deleted with this edit: [1] I've restored the header and alphabetized the list accordingly. Accurizer 00:07, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
Ozzie Nelson Omission: I notice that Ozzie Nelson is omitted from the list. He is the father of the singer Ricky Nelson and had a show business career of his own. He was born in New Jeresy; I've seen Jersey City as the place, but that I'm not sure of. What I am sure of is that he was raised in Ridgefield Park. The Ridgefield Park High School is on Ozzie Nelson Drive, which was named after him. I work in Palisades Park and have seen this. I also know from people from the area and library references that he was born in Ridgefield Park. Chances are his sons David and Ricky were also born there. I think he is a very important figure and should be included on this list.68.174.38.224 (talk) 16:33, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
Another ommision: Sterling Hayden (Sterling Relyea Walter) born in Upper Montclair, New Jersey. He was in such films as Johnny Guitar and Dr. Strangelove.72.79.10.16 (talk) 15:06, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
Another ommission: Ricky Nelson, Ozzie Nelson's son, was born in Teaneck, New Jersey.72.79.27.148 (talk) 00:44, 4 June 2009 (UTC)
Another person that you might want to add is Joan Caufield. She played the first wife of John Cannon (Leif Ericson) in High Chaparral. She was born in East Orange, moved to West Orange and attended Miss Beard's School in Orange.72.79.15.13 (talk) 13:48, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
Thanks fo the add-ons of Ozzie and Ricky Nelson.72.79.12.11 (talk) 01:46, 15 September 2009 (UTC)
might want to add Tracy Marrow - aka Ice-T. born in Newark, New Jersey, lived in Summit NJ til 5th grade and moved to district Crenshaw, Los Angeles, California —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.109.197.69 (talk) 23:39, 28 February 2011 (UTC)

Billy Hamilton - Outfielder - Newark, NJ Joe Medwick - outfielder - Cateret, NJ Leon Goslin - outfielder - Salem, NJ
Also they could add:
Eddie Brigatti - musician - member Rascals - Garfield Dino Danelli - musician - member Rascals - Jersey City

Butch Woolfolk needs to be on this list, graduated from Westfield HS, played for the Giants. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.170.148.254 (talk) 01:28, 5 February 2013 (UTC)
Please add these two as notable figures from New Jersey:
Army Gen. Martin E. Dempsey, 18th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, from Bayonne, New Jersey
SOURCE: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/10/03/world/americas/new-military-chief-faces-economic-challenges.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0
Army Gen. Raymond T. Odierno, 38th Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army, from Rockaway, New Jersey SOURCE: http://www.defense.gov/bios/biographydetail.aspx?biographyid=323
General Dempsey is cited in multiple credible news stories as a native of Bayonne. Unfortunately, his bio doesn't mention it and his wikipedia page is confusing at best. It says he was born in Jersey City and grew up in New York which is incorrect. He's personally said he's from Bayonne, N.J. in case anyone questions this. Both he and Odierno are also livid New York Giants and Yankees fans! I serve with them both and I'm from Asbury Park so it caught my attention. :-) Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 155.7.204.9 (talk) 20:52, 8 November 2013 (UTC)
Organization
[edit]This list is growing quite large and could be organized better. Perhaps with separate sections for each occupation. -- Ϫ 03:36, 22 August 2009 (UTC)

Confusing
[edit]The article has a confusing set-up, as it would appear many people could properly be put in more than one of its sections. --2603:7000:2143:8500:3C83:FDD0:8974:7B3A (talk) 03:10, 6 December 2021 (UTC)
Alphabetizing is wonky
