New list
[edit]The original article was made extremely lengthy by the inclusion of this list (actually two lists). In addition dates were missed out in very many of them, giving no indication of the time in which they lived. Peter Shearan (talk) 13:47, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
- I have also now included those people from the two Categories not included on the article - see Category:People from Hastings and Category:People from St Leonards-on-Sea. The big problem is that they are not co-ordinated so some editors add to them, others do not Peter Shearan (talk) 15:28, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
Multiple problems with this page
[edit]There seem to be multiple problems with this page. I would have thought "from Hastings" meant born or raised in Hastings, but there is no evidence on the pages of Paul Merton, Paula Yates, Spike Milligan that they did. Spike Milligan served in WW2 in Bexhill I thought. Decimus Burton might have been an architect of local buildings but is he "from"? And I'm equally unsure about James Burton (1761–1837) Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 16:02, 27 May 2016 (UTC)
I have now finished a major reconstruction of the page with citations in nearly every case, detailing the person's actual connection to Hastings and St Leonards. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 11:25, 18 June 2016 (UTC)
Stuart Christie
[edit]Does anyone have a reliable source WP:RS for Stuart Christie's connection to Hastings? Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 13:17, 28 May 2016 (UTC)
Harry H Corbett
[edit]I've deleted Harry H. Corbett from this list because I can't find a Reliable Source of his connection with Hastings. His Wikipedia page and other sources say he died in (hospital in) Hastings, but he lived in Ashburnham [1], close, but not Hastings Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 13:48, 28 May 2016 (UTC)
