About Oscar Franklin Smith
[edit]At the time of this writing, Oscar Franklin Smith is listed within this article's "List of people scheduled to be executed in the United States in 2020"-section. However, at the time of this writing, the "Upcoming executions"-source ([1]) lists Oscar Franklin Smith's June 4, 2020 execution date as "STAYED". So shouldn't he be removed from this article's "List of people scheduled to be executed in the United States in 2020"-section? I am not sure what the "Age of person"-averages would be (This is why I am bringing this up on the talk page instead of editing the article myself). Great job ... thanks!
[edit]I used to do a lot of work on these types of pages (List of people executed in the United States in THE YEAR XYZ). However, I have become too busy; and these shifted to my "back burner". Nonetheless, I still review and follow the pages. You guys are doing an excellent job on this article (and the prior year articles). Great job! Thanks! Joseph A. "Accordingly, this marks the first year a government in the US has managed to surpass Texas's execution count to such an extreme degree that it nearly doubles it"
[edit]At the time of this writing, this article says "This is the first year since 2003 that the Federal Government of the United States has executed people. Despite the 17-year hiatus, the federal government has become the most prolific government in the United States to execute people. For the last ten years, Texas has almost always been number one in executions (with one draw in 2014 to Missouri and one loss in 2016 to Georgia). Generally, Texas execution rates double or triple the government with the second-highest execution count. Accordingly, this marks the first year a government in the US has managed to surpass Texas's execution count to such an extreme degree that it nearly doubles it." My issue is with the "nearly doubles it" part. According to this article (at the time of this writing), Texas has executed three inmates this year with no other Texas inmates being scheduled for execution this year, whereas the Federal Government has executed seven inmates this year with one more Federal inmate being scheduled for execution this year. So at the time of this writing, the Federal Government has surpassed Texas's execution count to such an extreme degree that it has more than doubled it. Should the article be edited to reflect this? My issue with editing the article to reflect this is that it might lead the reader to believe that a government in the US has previously surpassed Texas's execution count to such an extreme degree that it doubled it or nearly doubled it (This is why I am bringing this up on the talk page instead of editing the article myself). Already executed Brandon Bernard
[edit]Now that Brandon Bernard is already executed, this Article should be updated accordingly. Here is the news article from UPI: https://www.upi.com/Top_News/US/2020/12/10/US-government-executes-Brandon-Bernard-for-Texas-slayings/7461607557274. Christopher Andre Vialva link incorrect
[edit]The Christopher Andre Vialva link in the table redirects to the Brandon Bernard article. 161.97.197.190 (talk) 02:20, 2 July 2021 (UTC)
- Because he is related to the Brandon Bernard article. He was convicted of the same crime as Bernard. A person who is linked to a specific murder or case should be linked to the relevant Wikipedia page. Inexpiable (talk) 18:28, 2 July 2021 (UTC)
