Missing mayor(s)?
[edit]So at the end of the 19th century, we have Albert L. Myer who is listed as holding office from 12 Sept. 1899 to an unknown date in 1899; then the next mayor listed is Pedro Juan Rosaly, holding office from 28 Dec. 1900 to 28 Feb. 1901; there seems to be a gap from at least the end of 1899 to Nov. 1900 with no listed mayor. I checked the two online sources I thought would have the information (the Enciclopedia PR; and visitponce.com via the Wayback Machine) but no luck... Does anyone have suggestions as to where else to look or can fill in the missing information? Thanks --FeanorStar7 16:30, 14 July 2019 (UTC)
- @FeanorStar7: Unfortunately, the history of Ponce mayors doesn't seem to be a perfectly well-aligned one. One oddity I have started to accept is that perhaps the municipality has, on occasions, gone without a mayor for days, weeks and, sometimes --it appears--, even months at a time. Mayoral terms information found at Enc PR and at the municipal government itself, seems to come from Eduardo Neumann Gandia's Verdadera y Autentica Historia de la Ciudad de Ponce. ENG published his book in 1913, only 13 years after the Myer/Rosaly transition, and he appears to have witnessed it (i.e., he appears to have been in Ponce at the time). So I would think ENG's would be the best source. Here is the link. Hopefully you can see something I haven't yet seen. Mercy11 (talk) 03:25, 17 July 2019 (UTC)
