Changing to a list

[edit]

So far, the content in this article looks like a list. If that is the intent, then it may work better to start a new page (e.g., List of higher education associations in Canada or List of higher education organizations in Canada with associations being one of its sub-components) and then request deletion of the Higher Education Associations and Organizations article and its redirect (i.e., Higher Education and Related Associations and Organizations) link. I've updated the page title to satisfy WP:MOS. It can be moved again if this is deemed to be a list instead of an article. Mindmatrix 20:05, 28 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Decision

[edit]

This article is part of the Category:Higher education in Canada and could be a list-article OR a sub-section within the Higher education in Canada article. If it is a standalone list, then it would need suitable abstracts and links for each association or organization. Plus, editing to wikify, cleanup, provide context, and add a lead section. If the content is added to the Higher education in Canada article, then the content would need similar editing except for slightly less context since that would be provided by the rest of the "Canada" article. So, it's almost the same amount of work but we need to make a decision to fix it one way or the other to avoid deletion.

Do we merge the current list within Higher education associations and organizations in Canada into the Higher education in Canada article OR keep the article as is and fix it promptly to prevent its deletion on July 22, 2008? If possible, please add comment below:

  • Comment: either option is fine. All this really needs is one or two paragraphs to describe the concept. There's nothing wrong with having stub articles on Wikipedia, so long as they at least have something of value, not just a list or two without context. Another option is to convert this into a "List of ..." article (as indicated above), but I think this has potential beyond a mere list. Mindmatrix 14:50, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
We may end up with a bit of both (i.e., an overview in Higher education in Canada and a more detailed article page here with links to full pages on the related groups). We've avoided the deletion, so we have some time to allow this article to evolve by adding content. Adhe536ontario2008 (talk) 20:02, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
