[edit]In re Marchioness of Willingdon, Lady Marie Adelaide Freeman-Thomas, GBE: I was unable to access the London Gazette (1917) due to my lousy ISP. However, I did access the following: Bresseys of Bulkeley
195. Albert14 Brassey (Thomas13, John12, George11, Thomas10 Brassie, Thomas9, Richard8, Thomas7 Bressey, Richard6, Ralph5, Thomas4, Thomas3, William de2 Bresey, Hamon le1)(24) was born in Rouen, Seine-Maritime, France 22 February 1844. Albert died 7 January 1918.
He married Hon. Matilda Marie Helena Bingham 12 January 1871 in Ardrahan, County Galway, Ireland. They were married by the Rt. Rev. the Hon. Charles Brodrick Bernard, Bishop of Tuam, assisted by the Rev. William Nugent, the Rector ... Matilda Maria Helena was O.B.E. (Dame of the Order of the British Empire).
and further down: . . .
She (Marie Freeman-Thomas, Marchioness Willingdon) was C.I. 1917, G.B.E. (Dame Grand Cross of the British Empire)1924, D.J.St.J., Order of Mercy, Kaiser-i-Hind Gold Medal (note: not DBE).
There remains no evidence that the Baroness of Willingdon, Marie Freeman-Thomas (née Brassey) was DBE, as I explained to User:Craigy44, but possibly (as per above) Matilda Marie Helena Brassey (née Bingham) was DBE as per highlighted sections (which is ironic in that she was a relative of Augusta Gregory (née Persse), the Irish nationalist). Possibly the similarity in names (Marie Freeman-Thomas, née Brassey and Matilda Marie Brassey (née Bingham) is responsible for this confusion. Respectfully submitted. - If you can't access the London Gazette and prefer to use thepeerage.com (a good site, but which should always be used as a last resort as compared to Burkes etc.) and a genealogical site, then that's your problem. I assure you she was gazetted a DBE in 1917 and to save yourself embarrasment, I suggest you drop this soon. Craigy (talk) 00:22, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
The page on Jane Goodall mentions she is a DBE from 2004. She is not listed in this page. Anybody have more information?

Veronica Ashworth
[edit]Air Commandant Dame Veronica Margaret Ashworth, DBE, RRC, SRN, SCM, Princess Mary's Royal Air Force Nursing Service was appointed on 30 August 1963 as Honorary Nursing Sister to the Queen as per London Gazette, Issue 44131, published on 30 September 1966, p. 4. She retired on 29 September 1966.
- The gazette indicates she is/was DBE, but I cannot locate the year she was knighted. Any help. Rms125a@hotmail.com (talk) 22:26, 13 February 2010 (UTC)

Flora Robson
[edit]The list of Dames Commander of the Order of the British Empire states that the actress Flora Robson was made a Dame in 1952. She was actually awarded a CBE in 1952 and made a Dame in 1960. Could someone please correct this? --Ccmcr1 (talk) 02:56, 6 November 2011 (UTC)
Alex Ferguson?

Makea Karika Margaret Ariki
[edit]So sorry I had so many problems. These Cook Islands titles are confusing. Most of all I had no idea that Makea Karika Margaret Ariki is the same person as Pauline Margaret Rakera Taripo!! Wow. Quis separabit? 14:13, 2 October 2014 (UTC)
Barbara Windsor
[edit]Is there a reason Babs is listed in both 2010 and 2016? The links are to the same page, so it's not two dames with the same name. Joystick74 (talk) 19:44, 4 June 2019 (UTC)
