New source?
[edit]@Mmcusmaanwp1: This appears to be the source you referred to in your edit summary: WorldAtlas.com. While I don't believe this is unreliable, it is not as complete as the other sources and I don't think it is fair to only use this source for one country. My inclination is to revert your edits again, but I will give you a chance to argue your case. Thank you for your contributions. --Lasunncty (talk) 18:27, 28 September 2021 (UTC)
Somalia Coastline is both agreed upon and verified by ICJ.
[edit]Dear GeoPersona, LasunnCty, and all other Respected & Concerned Editors. Thank you, indeed for giving us the time to proof our Coastline to Kenya 🇰🇪 and the rest of the world 🌎 in front of the ICJ.
Today, October 12th, 2021 The International Court of Justice ⚖ (ICJ) has both agreed upon & verified the Complete Somalia 🇸🇴 Coastline Limitations. The Case in front of the Court, Somalia 🇸🇴 Vs. Kenya 🇰🇪, has ended in Victory for Somalia 🇸🇴. https://www.icj-cij.org/en/case/161/summaries
ICJ sides with Somalia in Kenya maritime border dispute https://m.dw.com/en/icj-sides-with-somalia-in-kenya-maritime-border-dispute/a-59482142
ICJ rejects Kenya case in Somalia maritime border row https://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-58885535
Now, You can change the Somali Coastline Length from 3,333 km long to any other number you prefer it to be. For Somalia has won the Case to satisfaction. And I will not be concerned about any changes that you make from now on. I will not make any changes in the future.
Thanks Again GeoPersona, LasunnCty, and all other Respected Editors. Mmcusmaanwp1 (talk) 23:40, 12 October 2021 (UTC)
Addition of new column
[edit]I think this coast/area^0.5 column needs some explanation - it is not immediately obvious what it means and quite why it is better than the preceding column. thanks Geopersona (talk) 03:54, 22 October 2021 (UTC)
- The only advantage I see is that it is unitless (doesn't depend on the system of measurement). But I have not seen this ratio mentioned in any other source, and the editor did not include one either. Unless someone can provide a source that uses this ratio, I'd say it should be removed. --Lasunncty (talk) 10:23, 23 October 2021 (UTC)
World coastline is surpassed by the first five countries
[edit]What the title says, there must be something wrong in the list casue the world value is surpassed by adding together only the first five countries Lmagoutas (talk) 11:09, 20 August 2022 (UTC)
India's coastline is 7516.16 km, not 7000. So, it should be on 15, not 18

- The source says 7000, so that is what is listed. Obviously there is some discrepancy, as the other source used in the table says it is over 17,000! --Lasunncty (talk) 00:45, 26 October 2022 (UTC)
Switch columns in table
[edit]Given that the WRI measurements 1) have a defined precision and 2) are consistent between countries, it seems like these measurements should have priority on this page compared to the CIA measurements which fail on both points. In other words, I think the WRI and CIA columns should be swapped so that the WRI ranking is the first ranking the reader sees. However, I neither have the time, nor likely the knowhow, to edit the table manually, so I'm just leaving this comment here in case anyone who sees it can have a go at doing that. 2A00:23C4:6B13:D801:1C57:2166:FD74:9A8D (talk) 17:30, 15 December 2022 (UTC)
