Lead section, other ideas
[edit]The lead section seems, jumpy. The words don't flow really well with each other; I'll see if I can fix it up. If not could someone with writing skills look at that? Also should the fact that by area, Ohio is the 34th largest state, but is ranked 13th by number of counties? §hep • ¡Talk to me! 15:02, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
- Also, I found this page has very good information on Ohio counties, a quick search for "county" turns up lots of good information. I'll take a crack at this later today (Mother's Day is a busy one). §hep • ¡Talk to me! 15:12, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
To include
[edit]Sorry, my writing ability is strung out right now. Here's some things that I believe should be included. All of these are in the Ohio Constitution:
§ 2.30 "No new county shall contain less than four hundred square miles of territory, nor shall any county be reduced below that amount;"
A section that includes § 11.08, § 11.11, and § 99.19 would be nice as well. Sorry for not adding it myself and just giving off a list. §hep • ¡Talk to me! 18:51, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
- With that in mind, it's interesting to wonder how Lake County came to be as it is... Nyttend (talk · contribs)
- This is from the Ohio Historical Society, and shows what they say are the original counties. May be of use. §hep • ¡Talk to me! 22:57, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
- @Nyttend: Lake County was allowed to include the portions of Lake Erie in its area, thus more than 400 sq mi total. Carroll does not have this excuse. Twopower332.1938 (talk) 15:37, 14 October 2021 (UTC)
