This page seems to dilute top awards from others less recognized ones. Suggest separate top awards from others. CanadaMaple123 (talk) 03:05, 13 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Adding secondary sources for annual award recipients?

[edit]

In reviewing a random sample of the Wikipedia pages listed on this page for individual awards, I noticed that most of them simply have the list of recipients copied over from the web page for the actual award (a primary source). They do not have references to secondary sources for annual recipients. One exception was BCS Lovelace Medal that had a few references for recent awardees, although a couple of those were back to the primary source of the organization presenting the award.

Is there any convention within Wikipedia that for annual award recipients the article should only list the names? Or is it just that secondary sources have not been identified for the award recipients? I am glad to help with this on some pages, but would like to understand any conventions first. - Dyork (talk) 14:50, 29 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
