Listing Suggestion

[edit]

I suggest listing Chopin's compositions this way:

Examples of Chopin Op.9 No.1 and Op.10 No.4

(I posted this on Talk:List of compositions by Frédéric Chopin by genre)

No. Key Opus Published Composed Incipit Sound
1 B minor Op. 9 No. 1 1833 1830–1832 Florence Robineau
2 C minor Op. 10 No. 4 1833 1830 Martha Goldstein

I think that's a decent idea. Do like the way it looks. I haven't been a very active participant of the WikiProject, but perhaps some other comments might help? (Make sure to be consistent with the spacing of "Op." and "No." By convention, leave a space between the token and number.) Cheers. — Andy W. (talk · contrib) 05:54, 14 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Kevon kevono: A small follow-up. I do think another opinion or two might be best. Currently, I'm thinking something like this may be best on either this page or the "genre" listing page, but not both. — Andy W. (talk · contrib) 05:58, 14 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Kevon kevono: Dear Kevon kevono,
Thank you for submitting this suggestion. It looks good and has my support. Good luck with this effort once you've achieved consensus.
With kind regards

Look at my sandbox. I got Op.1-Op.27 done. Kevon kevono (talk) 14:48, 14 April 2016 (PT)
Hi @Kevon kevono:, it's looking great! I made only very small minor corrections here and there to match some formatting guidelines. One thing worthy to discuss, however, is whether we want to keep the keys formatted in the way they are, i.e. A major, or format it as A-flat major, complete with direct link to key. Despite the symbols for flat and sharp existing, I currently believe the text version is preferred. Just something to bring up. — Andy W. (talk · contrib) 23:49, 14 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Check out my sandbox again. I got Op.28–Op.60 done. I just have a little of the op. #s left, then the pieces that don't have op. #s. Kevon kevono (talk) 02:22, 11 May 2016 (UTC) (What the hell is UTC?) 19:22 (PT)[reply]

Valse mélancolique

[edit]

1932: Waltz in F♯ minor, Valse mélancolique, KK Ib/7, A 1/7 (spurious)

Shouldn't it be removed from the list as we know it wasn't Chopin's but Charles Mayer's œuvre ? Or at least given proper credit, and adding the real name next to it "Charles Mayer - Le Regret, Op. 332" Esteban Outeiral Dias (talk) 10:06, 9 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

WN number

[edit]

What's so important about the WN number (Chopin National Edition) that it requires a hat note on the Works without opus numbers section? — Iadmctalk  03:51, 3 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Order of works

[edit]

Why can't you add a list of Chopin's works in chronological order? Enock Sithole (talk) 08:43, 29 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
