[edit]I say that as Dortmund's picture was for example removed etc...while the BVB dortmund has not commited holocaust it shows that those companies still maintain themselves, at least to this day. Hence why dortmund kits were added. They represent the company, not the holocaust itself. And those saying, that no genocide happened, seem ridiculous industry trolls rather than any else. So keep on watching.

Creation of this list
[edit]This list was created as a result of this CfD. I am creating the list based off the contents of this category at the time.--Rockfang (talk) 22:24, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
Also, I'm putting {{Unref}} on the list as I know next to nothing on this subject. Someone else is of course free to put references in.--Rockfang (talk) 23:07, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
Genocide?
[edit]The companies listed have profited from the use of slave labor (see Forced labor in Nazi Germany) and thus from the "Holocaust" in a broader sense, but I not think anyone profited from genocide, i.e. killing people. -- Petri Krohn (talk) 02:07, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
The company Evonik Industries that used to be called Degussa produced the Zyklon B gas used to gas people in the Holocaust. Also why Genocide with a question mark? It is known that there was a genocide.
If you would like to contest genocide it would be better to react on the Holocaust page itself bringing proofs that all of this was invented.

unnecessary article
[edit]I think this article is unnecessary because it's simply a list of companies that were involved in the Holocaust, in which way? I mean, there's no article at all, I think that list should be explained or attached into a bigger article concerning the Holocaust rather than presented the way it is now. very useful article. I know which companies to not avoid!
other firms in the holocaust
[edit]the german railway corporation "Deutsche Reichsbahn", has deported jews to concentration camps ... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2003:FA:5F04:2000:24F0:468:5C61:811C (talk) 16:07, 23 December 2019 (UTC)
H&M in textile from Denmark have produced boots for german army. (It was a long ago school project in chilhood can not find sources again)
French SNCF (railway national corporation) deported jews for vichy state.
Amphetamine was given to soldier to help them figthing under the name pervertin
Adding still operating companies
[edit]Citation needed
[edit]Is "Citation needed" really necessary for companies like Deutsche Wirtschaftsbetriebe and Eisenwerke Oberdonau to name a few? These were nominally state-owned companies (the first was the SS holding company) so I find it hard to believe that needs a citation to be on this list. --Robotsy (talk) 12:35, 24 February 2021 (UTC)
Terribly ill-defined list
[edit]What exactly qualifies a company to be "involved in the Holocaust"? Apparently, Coca-cola is complicit in the Holocaust for selling sugary drinks to Germans and that puts it on the same list as companies like I.G Farben that experimented on inmates, used slave labor and produced Zyklon B. Does Oskar Schindler's company Deutsche Emailwarenfabrik deserve a spot on this list for producing cookware for Nazi soldiers? Barclay and Chase is on this list since their French branches during the occupation were forced to forked over money from Jewish accounts to the Nazis, that apparently makes the entire company complicit to the Holocaust? This list also contains state/SS-owned organizations such as Reichswerke Hermann Göring, in that case should the list include organizations such as Organisation Todt? Meeepmep (talk) 01:41, 9 October 2021 (UTC)
Agreed. Something definitely needs to be done here, although I’m not sure what. A lot of WP:ORIGINAL violations here, IMO.
The very first company on the list, for instance:
Accumulatoren-Fabrik AFA
“ Provided batteries for several kind of vehicles such as the German U-boats and Panzer tanks.”
How is that direct support of the Holocaust?
By this logic, we should list every corporation in operation from 1929-1945, since none of them actively took steps to stop Hitler. MWFwiki (talk) 14:06, 12 December 2021 (UTC)
- I have removed the items most obviously not holocaust related. (Hohum @) 00:57, 25 December 2021 (UTC)
- @Meeepmep: Hello there! And that's not it, the introductory-paragraph of this whole listicle sets the tone for such scholarly, deffo-not-emotive "hall of shame." That's why I took the initiative to flag it and concisely explain my reasoning. You should in fact consider having WP:RFC, if even this belated discussion doesn't bear much concrete results, as is stereotypically the case across much of English-language Wikipedia; especially for pertinent subject-matters like this one. –103.163.124.75 (talk) 11:47, 26 December 2021 (UTC)

Chanel
[edit]Should Chanel be added to the list? Coco Chanel was known to use German connections to bully Jewish competitors, and offered to attempt peace brokering between Britain and Germany in attempt to help the Nazis hang on to their European conquests longer. 99.42.142.82 (talk) 20:52, 30 December 2021 (UTC)
- That is not the same thing as "involved in the Holocaust". (Hohum @) 20:42, 11 January 2022 (UTC)
Missing of list of companies
[edit]Someone removed the list of companies from list column. Someone kindly Add or revert that editing in which they remove the list Mr.nothing anonymous (talk) 15:31, 19 January 2022 (UTC)
Shouldn't scientific institutes involved in the Holocaust also be included?
[edit]During World War II, some of the weapons and medical research performed by the Kaiser Wilhelm Society[[Josef Mengele}} was connected to fatal human experimentation on living test subjects (prisoners) in Nazi concentration camps.[1] Dirk-Franz (talk) 09:47, 11 September 2022 (UTC)
- I would say yes. Is your concern that the presence of such institutes in a "List of companies" would be awkward? Given the loose definition of corporation (linked to from this article's lead sentence), I'd say you could go ahead and include them, without needing to worry about renaming the article or making a separate list. --Dan Harkless (talk) 08:13, 12 September 2022 (UTC)

Edits are really needed
[edit]There are companies on this list that are either state owned or were taken over by Nazi. There's even the entry of IBM because they made a product that the Germans bought.
This list needs a lot of work and shouldn't go after a company who couldn't have done anything to stop a customer from useing a benign product for mass murder. It's like if you sold something used in a crime should you be blamed? 66.45.129.63 (talk) 23:04, 15 June 2023 (UTC)
- I think this is a by-product of the same issue raised above, regarding the definition of this list. I think it's a hard thing to define. Where does one draw the line? Active funding or in-kind gifts? Product was used with or without the company's knowledge? I think until we define what warrants inclusion, the list will have a lot of grey area. Rename to "List of companies involved with the Nazis during WWII"
[edit]This article might be better suited with a more generic title. Opinions? Thanks! Control-alt-delete ★ user◾talk◾favs 02:14, 3 August 2024 (UTC)
