[edit]

I have a good source document to start expanding this page. Within the article are two web sites with brewery tour information as well as several web sites of existing breweries in the state that might not be included in the wiki page but might need to be. I don't have the time right now, but if someone else wants to work on seeing if there are more breweries out there that need to be included, go ahead and add them from the link provided:

Updated the breweries and associated web sites associated.

Micro vs. Macro Breweries

[edit]

The Microbrewery wiki page indicates that to be considered a microbrewery, the brewery would need to produce less than 15,000 barrels annually. I've used this as a basis for distinguishing between macro & micro breweries. I've moved Miller, New Glarus, Leinenkugal, Stevens Point, and Capital brewing companies into this category due to information indicating that they produce at least 15,000 barrels annually. I suspect Schlitz and City brewing companies also are above this threshhold but that needs verification. Stylteralmaldo (talk) 21:14, 18 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What is a brewery?

[edit]

Horny Goat does not own a brewery. They provide Stevens Point Brewery with a recipe to brew and bottle their brews. Are companies such as Horny Goat really considered a brewery?

Accuracy

[edit]

This article is very out of date, there are dozens of brewpubs and a few breweries that could be added. Furthermore, I feel that the volatile nature of this market will make it hard to keep the quality high on this article. We'd be better off with a link to an enthusiast site such as RateBeer or BeerAdvocate. Perhaps this article should be considered for deletion? — Preceding unsigned comment added by DavidPx (talkcontribs) 20:06, 24 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Sections by brewery size

[edit]

There are currently three sections in the article that list the breweries by size -- large breweries, regional breweries, and microbreweries. I'm going to combine those into one section. Since breweries tend to evolve pretty quickly, and it's not that easy to find out how many barrels they've brewed recently, it would be hard to maintain this division accurately. But more than that, it's a somewhat arbitrary distinction, I think. So, here goes. Mudwater (Talk) 14:09, 27 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I've gone ahead and partially rewritten the article, from this to this. Most of the lead was taken from the "List of breweries in Idaho" article. I've also added some references, and removed several inappropriate or dead-linked external links. And I added Minhas Craft Brewery (which has its own article). Some proposed changes

[edit]

Information to be added or removed: Name of Brewery should read: The Fermentorium Beverage Co.,

Description should read: The brainchild of locally-raised homebrewer, The Fermentorium opened its doors in early 2016. Currently offering 24 beers on tap, the brewery also distributes to restaurants and bars all over Southeastern WI.

Explanation of issue: Incorrect, outdated information currently listed.

References supporting change: http://www.thefermentorium.com/

  Already implemented

  • The requested salient information is already in the list, including the current title (as indicated by the website) and the date it opened. Additional information, including beers offered, distribution locations and mention of the "brainchild" are beyond the purpose of the list.
