If these are to go into the "Faculty" list, it would be helpful to have dates and citations to back them up. PRRfan 04:47, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
The business list is abysmal - pr peacockry abounds. I'll edit.SLY111 (talk) 20:16, 24 August 2009 (UTC)SLY111
Removed redlinked, uncited
I have removed a redlinked, noncited entry: V.C.Samuel, Rev.Father M.A., B.D., S.T.M., Ph.D.(1957) Theologian and Church Historian, Priest of Indian Orthodox Church. The list is long enough without adding people with at least a smidge of citation. PRRfan (talk) 15:06, 26 March 2010 (UTC)
Colin Campbell
"* Mr. Colin Campbell, deadliest man with a battle ax at the Peddie School in Hightstown, NJ. Teaches English & History, coaches crew, scales buildings. Of relation to the Duke of Argyll, pretty freaking impressive.[1]" has been removed: another article in WP does not qualify as a reference, and no fictional work is mentioned.--Felix Folio Secundus (talk) 11:15, 12 November 2010 (UTC)

A possible Yale alum faculty addition?
Hello fellow Wikipedians!
I am interested in proposing an addition to this article. My great-uncle Bill Cornyn was a Yale alum (AM 1942, PhD 1944), professor (Slavic and South East Asian Linguistics), and department chair (of both the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures, and the Russian Area Program).
His bio article is well-referenced, but it's also a stub. I think this Yale University People list might be a good place to link to his Wikipedia bio article, but I'm not sure. Does anyone know if the inclusion of a link to his BDP article could be considered eligible for nomination?

Asterisks
Twelve people on this list have their time at Yale marked with an asterisk (*). Nowhere on the page does it indicate what this asterisk means. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.242.200.26 (talk) 21:03, 24 June 2015 (UTC)
- I noticed this too, and removed them. Couldn't figure out what these people have in common, and the page gave no clue, so that's not useful info.
- For future reference, in case someone knows what this is about and wants to put the asterisks back in, with an explanation, the entries were Dick Cheney, Victoria, Crown Princess of Sweden of the House of Bernadotte (under "heads of state;" she's in there more than once but only one instance was asterisked), Oliver Ellsworth, Winthrop Rockefeller, Mark Rothko, James Fenimore Cooper, Jennifer Connelly, Claire Danes, Oliver Stone, David Duchovny, and Leo Laporte. Enrico Colantoni also had an asterisk after the words "Veronica Mars" in his entry. Jessicapierce (talk) 16:20, 18 July 2015 (UTC)
- I suspect these asterisks marked people who attended Yale College but did not graduate from it. I know this is the case for Dick Cheney (transferred out), Oliver Ellsworth (transferred out), WInthrop Rockefeller (expelled), James Fenimore Cooper (expelled), Mark Rothko (left school), and Victoria of Sweden (non-degree student). - Nunh-huh 20:14, 18 July 2015 (UTC)

Lewis Nixon
I'm attempting to improve the Lewis Nixon III page. I have one source which claims he left Yale after two years and another that claims he was a grad. I suspect the two-year source conflates Lewis with his father, Stanhope Wood Nixon, who did leave the university after two years. I'd like to be able to cite a list of grads (like in the New Haven Register?).--Jim in Georgia Contribs Talk 17:09, 15 March 2017 (UTC)
- Not directly helpful, but for the father, there's a picture of him on the Yale crew here. - Nunh-huh 08:13, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
