Colour used in the table

[edit]

It seems that Gold and Silver colors are used for champion and runners-up only, and should not be used for the winner and loser of a normal match. So the colors are not suitable here. Any idea? Ftj1357 (talk) 00:29, 28 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. The colours are ugly and unnecessary. I'm not convinced the 'by year' table adds anything useful either.--Tffff (talk) 21:20, 28 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I add this table, for two causes. One is the percentage, compared to World Cup, the percentages are significantly higher. The other is to emphasize the years when there are a lot of penalty-kicks. World Cup 1990,2006 and Euro 1996 all have quite a lot penalties memories. Also Euro 96 had the lowest Avg goals per match in recent years, come with 4 penalty-kicks in knockout phase, 3 of them are goalless draws in 120 minutes. It is misleading to say that there were 17 knock-out matches before 1976. This number is inflated by replays. If you must include this information, it would be better to give the number of original ties (before replays), rather than the total.Tffff (talk) 17:41, 1 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
U r right. I've rewritten the paragraph. Ftj1357 (talk) 06:52, 2 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
