Note on styles
[edit]I removed architects' styles and strongly urge not to add them. Rationale(s):
- Inconsistency in style vocabulary, imperfect correlation between Russian and English-language terminology (see Talk:Constructivist architecture);
- Eclecticists like Leon Benois or Alexander Pomerantsev can claim half a dozen original styles each; an architect with six styles listed will appear more impressive than a pure baroque master;
- Stylistic crossovers (baroque-neoclassicism, neoclassicism-eclecticism) etc. are too delicate to be pressed into a simple list. NVO (talk) 22:47, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
Reshaping the list
[edit]I am going to rework this list and make it look like the List of Russian inventors or List of Russian artists. So, as a first step, I remove here all the red links.
- Vladimir Adamovich (1872-1941)
- Antonio Adamini (1794-1846)
- Pyotr Boytsov (1840s-after 1917)[1]
- Stanislav Brzhozovsky (1863-1930s)[1]
- Andrey Burov (1900-1957)
- Caesar Cavos (1824-1883)
- Valentin Dubovskoy (1877-1931)
- Alessandro Gilardi (1808-1871)
- Giovanni Gilardi (1757–1819)
- Karl Gippius (1864-1941)
- Max Hoeppener (1848-1924)
- Ivan Kondratenko (1856-1916)
- Aleksandr Kuznetsov (1874-1954)
- Vladimir Mayat (1876-1954)
- Victor Mazyrin (1859-1919)
- Ernst Nirnsee (1860—1918)[1]
- Alfred Alexandrovich Parland
- Vasily Schaub (1861-1934)
- Sergey Solovyov (1859-1912)

That's it. If the articles on these architects appear, they maybe added onto the list.
